As a longtime fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (it was the first show I ever added as a season pass for TiVo, way back before HDTV when there was only a 14 hour unit) I can tell you that I'm completely stoked about this event. Chris and I are presenting Amber Benson's ("Tara") newest film, the action-comedy Dust Up October 8th at the Somerville Theater.
Not only will we screen the film, we'll also host a Q&A session with the attending Ms. Benson. Though she's best known for her time on BtVS, Amber is also an accomplished author and independent filmmaker as well. I'm hoping for a spirited question and answer session, and have promised not to be a creep.
Directed by Ward Roberts, Dust Up bills itself as a neo-western and promises insane stunts, knockdown brawling and high stakes shootouts along with offbeat humor and characters, including a human lizard. Things are going to get bloody, then they're going to get funny then the two are going to blend together, kind of like if you were making margaritas out of comedians in Cuisinart.
Tickets are available online at at the box office. For those of you who live too far from Boston to attend, Dust Up is available on demand (via iTunes, Amazon, Vudu and your local cable provider) on October 2nd.
